Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced my alternator and belt and now my air is blowing warm air and
the vehicle shuts off when I turn the air off. The air worked fine before I
replaced those parts. I have difficultly putting the belt on and both parts came
from amazon but they seem to be working fine. 2000 Lincoln Continental v8
The front of the engine faces the side of the vehicle and I wasn't able to
locate a belt diagram online.

You have two cooling fans, one for the radiator and one for the AC condenser. When the AC is on, both work by default. With a defective radiator fan, it turns off when you shut off the AC and the engine immediately overheats. so the engine shuts off. fix the fan and you'll be fine.
