My 2001 Jeep Wrangler sport occassionally will not start. The starter does not react. Any ideas?

Hi tlassak! It's very possible it's a connection issue but the two problems you list here may not be completely related. You seem to have a sensor issue when you need to put your Wrangle in neutral to start it, but a complete no-start is an entirely different animal.
