Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I bought a 2001 Jeep Cherokee last week and it kinda
made me nervous so today I changed the ignition key
cylinder now the car doesn’t start because of anti theft. I
read here about the anti theft protocol but I only have an
ignition key and no fob.

Tomorrow I think I will purchase replacement door cylinder
and but will the disarm anti theft protocol work then?

Wish I had an answer for you, I was told that mine would not start because of the anti-theft. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do.

Me too . The battery bracket in my key fob broke. Then Jeep stopped working . Soldered the bracket on ....BINGO. Key fob works better than ever but because I tried key in ignition a million times before fixing fob the anti theft locked up. Have 4 digit pin from original purchase/dealership. Not sure I need it now. Original Fob n it works also original key so DO I HAVE TO STILL REPROGRAM, should still be programmed right if it’s all original parts?!?! Where’s the WHOOPS button? Lights n blinkers just flash n does nothing turning key except bulb checks on dash like usual no sound of turning over. Anybody have ANY ADVICE
