Really? Crawl under it and look. They are easy to change.

Thanks for being a smart aleck & not answering the question. Obv you don't own a 2017. Carry on.

I own a 2014 Dodge Ram with the 5.7 engine and the oil filter is easy to locate. The Ram 1500 and the Durango are similar and the filter is in the same location. If you can not find the filter then please don't do your own oil change. Also, "Google" is your friend.

I tried google. Not a mechanic at all. Husband is 23yr military vet but gone for military so was trying to save the 100 charge by spending 35 & doing it myself. Owned a 1500 2015 Ram but never changed. This one have to take the engine cover off then its accessed from up top. Much easier than below. Thanks.

Well I assumed wrong on the engine. Have you priced oil changes? About $40.00 should get it done for you. I would suggest calling the dealer to see what they charge for just an oil change. My 5.7 holds 7 quarts, not sure about your V-6. An oil change should not be anywhere near $100 unless a high dollar synthetic oil is used. I actually use Ford's Motorcraft 5w20 synthetic blend in my Dodge.

Yes. It takes 7 quarts of full synthetic & with the higher quality filter the quote was 50 materials 50 labor which I thought ridiculous. But once I drained oil, couldnt find stupid filter. Sorry for being a pain. Full time Pediatrics RN, twin 2yr olds & 6th deployment sucks. Only 2yrs to go. Any idea when I should change air filter? Durango only has 9000k miles on it total so wasnt sure.

You are not being a pain. You are correct that $50.00 labor is ridiculous. Just curious as to what part of the country you live. That may explain the high cost of the oil change. Here in Kansas oil changes even with full synthetic will not cost that much. I changed my air filter at 30,000 miles, it was dirty but not real bad. Also I drive on some dusty country roads so that makes the filter get dirty faster. 30,000 miles probably would be good for your vehicle.
