My 2017 will not start!!!

Asked by GuruLZMTP Mar 23, 2019 at 10:25 PM about the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu LS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My brakes was hard to press while I was on
the interstate so I used my emergency brakes
all the way home I got home I cut the car off
it would not start it was turning over but
wouldn’t start a notification came on that
said stabiltrak and it said battery save so I
had it towed to the dealer and they told me I
needed a vacuum hose booster which was
under warranty they put that on then he said
my battery was dead now they tell me I need
a rack and pinion and it’s gonna cost me
$2500 so I went and got my car because my
car had no problem with the power steering!!
So I bought a new battery because my car
battery kept dying can somebody help me
none of my fuses are blown. Now my check
engine light is on

You can have an OBD hooked up to it for free at most parts stores to see why your check engine light's on and for the battery keeping on dying, it sounds like a bad alternator.

So my 2017 malibu won't start after I completely cut off on me will about to stop at a light . Got it towed to dealer Friday they say they couldn't. Dino said because of my battery it wouldn't come on then 3 days later I'll call and see and then they're telling me I have water in my tank well how do you know that if the car won't come on or the battery kept dying. Then a guy I know told me that it might be my alternator and another guy told me that it's my corpak or something like that

Did you figure out what was wrong with it? This exact same thing just happened to me.

The problem is the vacuum pump.. Its on the driver's side end of the head. It runs on the camshaft and usually brakes the camshaft also. There is a TSB on it

Same thing. Replaced Brake booster, MAF sensor and had recall fixed still won’t start. If I try really hard sometimes it will once, cut it off and won’t start again, cranks until battery’s dead... I hate this car
