What is involved in swapping the block and heads from a 1998 suburban 4x4 with a 350 engine into a 1993 silverado 4x4 with a bad 350 engine?

Asked by Coriell Feb 20, 2018 at 03:19 PM about the 1993 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can the block and heads from the 1998 Suburban with a 350 engine be used to
replace the block and heads of the bad 1993 Silverado 350 engine?  My plan is
to reuse the original 1993 intake, distributor, transmission, and extras.

Basically you want to swap the "long block". You'll have to compare casting numbers to make sure tranny and intake can bolt up to the long block.
