Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Chevey z71 4wdrive K1500, how can I test the
fuel injection and I was getting fuel pressure at
about 50 psi when my fuel pressure gage blew at
loose, know I got this P0300 code don't know
which way go since I replace wire distributor
pickup and plugs. Know I change one of plugs out
because I damage a older one I put in back in
November, trying to check the carbon on plugs.
Know it start but cut right back off as if it just lug
few seconds as if it's not getting fuel. What can I
do to fix this?

alrighty, when was the last time u did a full engine tune up? - spark plugs, spark igntions, gaskets (all of them), cylinder cleaning (the chambers) - and also - does it say dex-cool on your coolant tank? that is very important to note because if you mix say arctic freeze and dex-cool you will have coagulated mush inside your engine.

The Chevy vortec engine needs more than 60 psi fuel pressure. anything less and it wont run. 50 psi is too low. You will need a good gauge to check fuel pressure to be sure.

I have change everything during the tun- up when I replace my lower intake gasket, plugs, wire new distributor assembly and coolant. That shitty as gm dex-cool ant worth cramp but have you replacing water pump, connector neck on intake etc. that's stuff is a bunch of crap. I did this tune up last year in November-December and I don't drive this truck ever day. But every since I replace the lower intake and change the coolant back to dex-cool from green I haven't had nothing but trouble with corrosion after flushing the green out. I think about after I find out the problem I'm going back with hotter plugs and keep ACdelco wires

P 300 is random misfire. Low fuel pressure will generate a p0300. But I have to ask. Did the code come up after changing the lower intake gasket? If so, I have seen lots of trouble with the plastic/rubber intake gaskets. If they are not torqued correctly and only to I think 20 Ft. Lbs. you will, I repeat WILL get a leak at the intake ports. if not now, sooner than later. Do you have a cam/crank correlation code as well?

Yes.I read where they have this misfiring because of fuel injection clogged. I seen light sparks coming from the misfiring cylinder plugs. That isn't what I'm looking for what kind of plugs to use I'm very familiar with using with the factory use.

If you are seeing sparks around the spark plugs. That's your misfire. Any visible spark means the spark is not getting to the tip of the plug. It's either a cracked plug or bad boots/wires. The factory plug was.Platinum 41-902 Iridium 41-993 And conventional R44LTS6 all are .60 gap
