Car needs new engine at 120k miles what options
do I have in terms of replacement? How old
generation wise can I go to replace the engine.

The mobile mechanic said it might be a head
gasket issue but cant know until the engines lifted
out. only have 1.5k to make this happen so what
are my options? have to get this right the first time

Your stuck with used engines. The problem is you will be just throwing money away trying to repair a vehicle that will start breaking down from here on out. Stay away from Hyundai, KIA and Mitsubishi.

A head gasket can be diagnosed by a compression test, and a cooling system pressure test. Get a second opinion before you condemn the engine. If it is indeed the head gasket, use the money you have towards another vehicle. Hope that helps! Jim
