Bad battery, bad battery connections or cables, and check the main fuses.

When you place jumper cables to jump the engine and all the lights come on, but shut off when the jumper cables are removed. Then chances are that you have a bad battery or bad connections. While attempting to start using jumper cables and you hear a clicking sound from somewhere in your engine, chance are it is a bad starter. I would recommend testing your battery and starter.
