2015 Kia Optima 108K miles

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2015 Kia optima with 108K miles on it. I was driving it on Saturday
when all of a sudden it just shut off on me. Thought it was a battery issue..
Low  and behold I found out that there was a recall for a knock sensor
software update by calling a kia dealership. They also told me that I would
not be covered for a new engine, because the recall was never performed. I
have called Kia Consumer agency, and they proceeded to tell me that since I
was 8K miles over, they would not be able to help me. KIA has been selling
faulty engines to customers and expect us to pay for repairs. KIA has not
been helpful in anyway in my situation.. I would just like to know if anyone
has had similar issues?

If you are past the warranty coverage and you wait to fix a problem until after the engine blows whose fault is it?

whatever you do, don't buy a Saturn either! EVERY Saturn I see in a junk yard has a warped head with a good transmission. Most likely because the transmission wasn't built out of cheap aluminum like the head was. Their heads warp EVERY time it gets hot.
