Transmission, clutch, or rear differential??

Asked by Tyler Aug 09, 2017 at 10:08 PM about the 1987 Jeep Comanche Chief

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 87 Comanche will start up no problem but when
it come to get in motion, it's a different story. It's a 4
speed manual and it will go into every gear  like
normal, yet no power dispersion. I'll even take my
foot off the clutch and the engine is still running .
What could this be ?

Probably the clutch but a broken axle or a U joint could also be the culprit.

Look under the truck and see if the drive line is turning when it is in gear. Be safe!

No you could probably put it in gear without any problem with a slipping clutch.

Your Answer:

Comanche
