2014 Toyota Camry A/C "knocking sound"

I turned on my A/C yesterday and instantly heard a knocking sound.  I pressed
the A/C button and it stopped.  I can turn on the fan blower without pressing
the A/C and there is not sound.  Only when I press the A/C button the
knocking begins.

Air conditioning compressor is bad and needs to be replaced. Hope that helps! Jim
