Question type: Maintenance & Repair

has anyone had a problem with 2014 legacy computer shutting your car
engine and electronics down while driving?  across the dash it randomly says
"goodbye" and shuts down then we have to pull the key out and put back in
and starts right back up, however this is in the middle of the road!!!

Usually it's not the computer but an input telling it to shut down ,,, my first guess is the ignition switch

Thank you Tom so are you thinking a bad ignition switch? Subaru just called and said bc we got a new battery not installed by them it may be that... I just laughed, then they went on to say it also could be the phone hands free holder that is hooked onto the vent above the ignition somehow shutting my car off I again laughed haha

Ask Him if His "Foil Hat" had recently been calibrated. Tell them you filed a complaint with your states consumer complaint bureau .. follow up on posting on Craigslist ... See if they have a page on FaceBook and write a complaint on that. Do anything you can to impede their sales because that's their "Life's blood"

That is a "life threatening malfunction" because you loose brakes and steering becomes difficult .... GM was recently sued due to a faulty design on their ignition sw that caused multiple deaths. Go on "Google" and search Legacy shuts off while driving ... Good Luck
