Overheating

Asked by Morgan Oct 05, 2018 at 08:05 PM about the 1988 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat Standard Cab 4WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1988 f250 7.5 and it keeps overheating. I
am thinking bad radiator and possibly bad heater
core because I can't get any heat into the cab. I
have replaced all the cooling system besides the
clutch fan and the radiator, and the heater core. I've
been trying to figure it out and finally just started
taking it apart to see if I could find my issue. Any
input or advice as to what you might think it could
be. Just want to get the girl up and running good
so I can get a lift in and get her repainted :)

Purge air out of the cooling system. An air lock can prevent the heater from working.

I also found while I was digging that I have a broken vacuum line, and I believe that led to my pcv valve because at some point it build enough pressure to blow my gaskets out the side of my valve covers.
