1984 f250 overlander project

I have a 1984 ford f250 6.9l idi 4 speed with 4x4. It
was used as a farm truck and has never been
registered i wanted to make it an overland camping
vehicle was wondering what diesel engine i could
swap into it her and if anyone knows what front in
rear axles I could swap in that are disc brakes
instead of drum. If anyone could let me know that
would be much appreciated

A 7.3 diesel would be my choice. A mid 90's F250/350 donor truck would be the thing to look for. Not sure why you would buy an old POS and then swap the drive train and running gear.
