Electrical system shutdown while driving

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've been experiencing the much reported
electrical issues due to a problem with the
battery wiring harness being defective.
While it has been extremely inconvenient (
having to jiggle the wiring harness to reset
the electrical system outage nearly 70% of
every time the car is turned off), it just took a
step in the dangerous category. The 1st time
3wkago, as I was turning left into a parking
lot, going approx 20mph, the car completely
shutdown electrically. I lost all steering,
brakes and no acceleration.  I ended up
going headfirst into oncomfing traffic, until
my car just came to a rolling stop on its
own. Thankfully I wasn't hit by anyone. Well
a week ago, it happened again as I was
approaching a red light  going 35mph. This
time just I I started to apply my brakes, the
whole system shutdown again. I lost all
brake control, steering and no accelerator
control. This I time I slammed into the back
of the car stopped ahead of me, severely
damaging both my car and the other driver.
The airbag deployed and Thankfully no
major injuries so far.  Has this happened to
anyone else and how do I see about a
possible suit against Chevy and a possible
recall?

You are negligent , you know you had a problem but still drove the car . Hopefully the person you hit doesn't see this post . Even without power the brakes will still stop the car you just have to press hard .

I had the same shut down issues, I realized that it was caused by the battery cable sensor detecting a hot + cable, I disconnected the sensor and replaced just the first nine inches of the + batter cable. I have driven the car now 2,000+ miles with no reoccurring shut down. I have not reconnected the sensor.
