2013 Chevy Captiva Malfunction Light

Asked by Paula Feb 27, 2018 at 11:23 AM about the 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Malfunction light was on in vehicle.  I looked up in manual and read what it could mean.  After believing it was safe to drive I drove 11 miles and turned it off while I was waiting.  After 15 minutes I started it back up to be on my way.  Drove about 3 blocks and it began to chug and suddenly died/killed/stalled.  After a 20 minute wait it did start up again and I made it home.

Took it to repair shop where they ran diagnostic test.  Cleared codes etc, but unsure that the issue was.  Called to say we could pick it up, said the light was cleared and when they drove it it rode smooth.   They couldn't find the issue and said they couldn't guarantee the light would not come back on.  I no sooner drove off and the light was back on.  I made it home but what now?

I am nervous it drive it for fear it will just "die" again in traffic.

if it's an intermittent problem they can't diagnose it if it's not happening , take it back I guess , or see someone else if you want
