Continued Electrical Problem

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm still having problems with the electrical system of my car.  I have had my batter checked under load and my alternator checked Ok out side of my car.  I replaced the connection plug to the alternator, and the car ran fine for  3 days and then the same problem accrued. All instruments stopped working, the car sputtered and died and would not restart.

This time the Ford dealership that the car was toed to said the alternator was not putting out any power.  They checked all the wiring to the alternator and it tested Ok.   According to the mechanic that worked on my car the problem is a bad alternator or a bad PCM.  I cannot find any mention of a PCM (Brain, Computer) in the Haynes repair manual.  Is the PCM the same thing as the CTM (Central Timing Module) that is t M talked about in the manual?  If not where is the PCM located and how do I get it out?

Haynes list the pcm as the powertrain control. It is in the left, passenger side kick panel behind and to the right of the glove box.
