1983 944 warm air still comes out when fan is off anf not running

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've read where there is a stuck flapper that is staying open allowing heat into cabin , I have no clue if it is a cable , vacuum , mechanism issue. Also read that the dash needs to be removed and will look at parts breakdown to do so but don't know where to start.

Being a 1983, it may still use a vacuum actuator for the temp and mode doors in the dash. If that's the case a vacuum leak could be keeping those doors from working.

When I worked at the Porsche dealer back when these were new, they were always in the shop getting warranty work done- like a continuing "build" really- 'cause I guess the engineers didn't really think things thru- If you must own one of these, understand that there will be many, many issues- good luck-
