Is tennisshoes still out there?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Been driving and maintaining my truck since 1988.  My battery died and I had it replaced.  Was dead in a week.  Took it to my shop mechanic.  They recharged the battery, then fried their diagnostic tool.  Any thoughts?  They are saying it is an electrical problem.  It is obvious to me they have no idea where to start....

The alternator was the problem when I replaced the battery last time. So it was the first thing we checked this time. Thank you for answering
