My truck will as long as you put gas straight in the
carborater .an if you understand hook the fuel line and hit
the gas petal it will pump gas hook it up an it want start .

Fuel pump may have enough pressure to keep truck running but not enough to start it. You can also check accelerator pump on carb, often the diaphragm goes bad.
