I have a 1985.5 Nissan 720 pickup with a small leak on the left side of the differential. Any
idea what this may indicate as a potential problem? My truck has 268k miles.

To update this, my rear differential doesn't have seals but there is a small crack in the left axle casing. I can get this fixed with a small external weld is what I'm being told.

my '96 nissan pickup started running hot and I was not losing fliud. The fan comes on, the oil is not milky so I changed the thermostat. The first day I drove it and ran it for a total of 25 minutes. Temp was fine. Second day drove for 10 minutes and ran hot. Drained and flushed radiator ran hot again after 10 minutes. After it cooled, I did have some water loss.
