10 amp meter fuse and squealing noise

Asked by Zoom936 Sep 24, 2016 at 08:56 PM about the 1992 Nissan Truck SE V6 Extended Cab SB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 10 amp meter fuse that kept blowing. I
could find out the cause. I now have a 25 amp
fuse in the fuse box which hasn't blown out yet.
Now every once in awhile my truck makes a
squealing noise when I step on the gas when I
need to go after stopping. I just wanna know if
the two are related problems.

Putting a larger fuse in because a fuse is blowing is asking for trouble. A fire may be in your future.

I hope this was solved after 3 years but to anyone who stumbles upon this like I have the problem is a short going to the fuse either from under the truck or behind the dash first look under truck around tranny for any broken/bad wires fix it problem solved if not unplug speed sensor replace fuse if it doesn’t blow the speed sensor it the problem if it blows then plug it back in an go to reverse light switch unplug it replace fuse if it blows plug it and move on if now replace reverse switch if non of that works time to take part the dash and follow all the wires from tach rpm and temp displays you shall find the problem their or in your reverse like wiring even possibly on the wires running to fuel pump but your meter fuse problem is within their and the squealing would be a tension pulley or belts no relations THIS POST IS FOR FUTUR PEOPLE WHO FIND THIS THREAD P.S If someone asks for help don’t just tell them their doing it wrong give a reason why and how they should go about correcting it that is why people look to these boards for help
