2013 Toyota Tacoma Electrical Issues

Asked by ecortez30 Aug 09, 2018 at 10:06 AM about the 2013 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab SB V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It all started with an AC compressor issue, didn't use AC for about 3 weeks.
Ordered compressor, while waiting for part to come in, tried to turn on the AC
again. Heard a loud popping noise and lost power to windows, ac and four
lights came on the dash (Traction control, ABS, Engine and Brake). The
speedometer is also not working. Checked the engine light with a code
reader and got a P0500 speed sensor A malfunction. Changed both front tire
wheel speed sensors and AC compressor, but still having issues. Checked
all fuses within the vehicle, all are working.

It seems to me like it should be a electrical issue, but when researching I
have not been able to find a solution. Any help would be appreciated.

You may have a bad relay. Check in engine compartment for relay marked "MGT CLT" which is for the magnetic clutch for the AC. Switch it with the relay for the horn as they are the same to see if this rectifies the problem. If it fixes it, order a new relay from Rock Auto.
