1998 toyota tacoma

OK there is something wrong with 1) a ground connection or 2) a power connection or 3) the power window motor or 4) the drivers power window button/switch. First look around the pass. door; is there any thing looks like frayed wires (from the door to the door frame)? look at the wires and connections under the dash panel to the fuse box ( any loose? burned? just weird looking?) next remove the drivers side, power window switch (there are lots of Car Gurus entry's and you tube videos on how this is done) and check it for good connections and for continuity with your multi-meter. Then if all is well, remove the Passenger door panel (again consult Car Gurus entry's and you tube videos on how this is done) then do a visual inspection of the wires inside the passenger door, the connections and the motor. While there look at the "tracks" the window uses to travel in, to go up and down ( any binding? dirt? window glass not sitting correctly in the tracks? ) if every thing is looking OK; start using your multi-meter to check the continuity of the wires /connections, also see if the motor is freely spinning (you have to take it out of its location) and doesn't have any sounds like grinding. All of this, hopefully, may lead you to the source of your problem, then you can fix it. It sounds complex but just take it one thing at a time and move from the simplest/easiest to the more complex step by step.
