Coolant cap has gunky milky stuff built up on it not the radiator cap but the coolant cap

Asked by Beau Nov 07, 2018 at 01:27 PM about the 2000 Dodge Intrepid ES FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Checked oil cap and oil dipstick and
they are normal no milky substance
or look to it I flushed the coolant and
the next day it was milky and gunky
again is it a bad gasket or my water
pump please help

Might be a leaking transmission cooler line in the radiator. Fluid is mixing with the coolant

Sounds like the early stages of a failing head gasket. Ive had luck with two products.K-seal which is what I would try first. Its about $15 and easy. If that doesnt work Ive had luck with Blue Devil
