my 2000 dodge durango is smoking but not running hot

my 2000 dodge durango (built in October 1999) has white smoke coming
from the backside of the engine and comes through the hood at the back
drivers side corner near against the windshield when hod is closed.

Sounds like steam from a leaking heater hose. Hope that helps! Jim
