warning chime dings constantly
My 2001 Dodge Dakota SLT has started a chime that's constantly going, but intermitant in duration... a lot like a door is ajar or your seat belt warning. I just want to disconnect it. Any pointers?

I have the same problem but it just started after I switched my stereo system which also doesn’t work. I’ve checked the connections, checked the fuses and basically everything I’ve found online yet nothing works. It doesn’t work with the stock anymore eaither which is strange. If anyone could help please do
Got tired of the dinging. Ripped the tranducer from the module. Mounted it on dash with a switch. It now flashes an LED. If I ever get lonesome for the dang dinging, I just flip a switch and the transducer chimes. A real sanity saver.
How did you do this
In a Dakota, the module is located near the parking brake behind a plastic panel. It comes out by removing some screws. You have to be sure to disconnect the cables carefully while the truck is turned off. Once out, disassembly is not too complicated if you have a modicum of mechanical ability. From the photo I had included, you can see the transducer as the black round object. Here is where having some soldering skills helps. Desolder the transducer from the board, put two wires in its place, put the module back together, and run those wires to where you want to remount the transducer to control it with a simple switch. I used a SPDT toggle switch to flip it between the transducer and an led. Haven't missed the dinging at all.
