Low Battery

Asked by Brandon-Stephanie Jan 23, 2019 at 02:18 PM about the 2013 Ford Fusion SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Have a 2013 Ford Fusion Battery is 1 year old and passed being tested.
About every two weeks I will get the warning message on the radio for low
battery power saver mode and the car will be difficult to start.  I then charge
the battery over night and no problems for about another 2 weeks.  Had the
alternator tested and they said it wasn't charging the battery so i replaced it
and 2 weeks later i am having the same problem.  Only seems to be a
problem now that its cold out.  car is parked in garage overnight, i drive 4
miles to work in the morning and 4 miles home at night.

My car must be driven at highway speed every so often or the battery gets a build up of carbon, or something, and the car will die on me. Also, that is the only time the battery will get charged although no one can tell me how far I have to drive to make that happen. In the winter, I hook it up to the trickle charger overnight every few days. Between the two, I haven't had any more problems. #newtechnology. Good luck!
