Turns over but won't start no gauges

Asked by 02durangoslt Mar 17, 2021 at 08:23 PM about the 2002 Dodge Durango SLT Plus 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2002 dodge durange. Just had the
transmission replaced. It was running for 2
weeks fine but I had problems with my cat
converter, so I got dual exhaust. A week later
it turns over but won't start, no gauges are
coming on. It says no bus and after a few
minutes all of my check gauge lights come
on saying I need gas, and check engine so
forth. I have replaced the fuel pump relay, it
has a new battery and I have checked the
grounds. Now I don't know if the 02 sensor
has anything to do with it but I have 1 that the
mechanic never hooked back up. The front
male o2 plug is bare wires and hanging, the
female is broken hanging on by 1 wire. But
the rear o2 is hooked up and fine. Please help
I just put 3 grand into getting my truck fixed
after a year and now this.
The no bus codes are 920, 921, and 999.

It could be a bad ignition switch. Although I would get those 02 sensors and wiring fixed! Those can lean or richen a mixture by a quite a bit if they are out of limit. Make sure your fuses are all good as well! Check Every One!

Also check the harnesses and inspect the areas in which the mechanics worked on because if they didn't connect them properly or if they rubbed through from neglect to position them in a better spot.

We have checked all fuses, relays, and grounds so far. A couple people are telling me to replace the computer but I was trying to rule out everything else first. We have secured the o2 sensors. There is the correct voltage coming and going to the computer as well. It shows voltage going to the relay case but no relays are clicking when you turn the key over.
