2005 dodge neon sxt overheating

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Started occasionally overheating, often reservoir
tank bubbles after car has been turned off. As it
became more frequent, the water pump was the
first solution to try, which has been replaced 2 days
ago, but the car it's still overheating. First almost
immediately after initial warm up and thru interior
vent (bubbling resovior) but burping the system
seemed to diminish it to where it cools if the car is
in any motion or even speed briefly at a red light,
but rises as it's parked and idle running. Otherwise
it doesn't even lift past the 1st line below the half
way point. No longer seems to be leaking water,
but has to be filled almost entirely after 20 min
drive

Ok water pump and thermostat replaced. Still overheating. Added bonus? Tranny starts going out. While burping air from system squeezing on the radiator i got an over load of "pink milkshake" from radiator. Google it. It's a real thing, which I've discovered in researching ON MY OWN! (Very proud of myself, i know nothing about cars and have had many men give me several different FALSE answers) Basically somehow getting tranny fluid in radiator. Also must mean water in tranny fluid lines. Haven't figured where to go from here since it just happened today but I'm working on it..

These cars are notorious for cracks forming in the trans cooler (which is inside the radiator). You will likely also find water in the trans now too. Replace radiator ASAP and flush your trans ASAP to avoid BIG problems later.
