I'm not sure about the noise BUT IF YOUR BRAKE PEDAL goes to the floor you need to check your brake fluid reservoir. If it's down a lot then you have a leak or no brake pads left. But pads squeal like a bugger when they are that far gone. Leak somewhere.

IMy son's car wsa shipped back from East Coast to Denver. I quickly noticed the brake was "softer" had aroub 2 inch more play in the push. The fluid was fine. When the door is closed and the car iddleing, I can hear a Thud right in front of the driver side under the hood, every time the break is pumped. The break pads are approx 50% of their life. Taking it in to a trusted mechanic Tuesday and will provide a report later. One reason, can hear these noises is the car runs so quite. His Dodge Charger is a Highway Patrol auction car with 80,000 miles. His car was Dyno Tested before and after adding MC2 (Metal Conditioner Squared) that reduces friction on the motor, transmission, power steering and axil. The Dyno test is published at www MetalC2 dot com Before and after the dyno test adding the nano-technology, a Sound Meter recording was conducted from the inside. The idle noise inside dropped 5dB. That is about 1/3 the noise level inside due to the motor having less friction. It really improved the ability to hear noises never heard before. MC2 also lowered the oil temp about 40 degrees. For re-ocuring interstate trips the gas milage improved between 18% to 26%. But, the horsepower increase was documented on the dyno test at the web site.. 10 to 15 more HP makes a huge difference in the zero to 75 MPH, since I would never suggest speeding. . The cost was $30.00. The metal analysis test showed huge redutions in wear. The metal conditioning treatment just for reduced noise to assist troubleshooting alone made the difference. I will be back in a few days to post what was found. The mechanics got an extended Thanksgiving vacation or I would know by now.
