what causes the key to get stuck in the ignition and how can I get it out

went to a friends house it started up fine but when I got to her house the key
would not come out

Try moving the shifter lever up and down and back to parking. If not, u'll have to check the safety neutral switch on the transmission

You can also turn the steering wheel left to right wiggle it at the same time pull the key out Sometimes ignition locks stick or just get wore out and make sure your key is not wore
