Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 300 and the silver flap in my gas door is "locked".  The fuel nozzle will not
push the flap open so I can't put gas in my car!  Has this happened to anyone else?

The little spring loaded, tab is stuck, the only way to make it move is,take a screw driver and hammer, and tap lightly inward on it,should break it loose.

Had the same issue with my 2013 300-C. I was at th gas station but i couldnt refuel because the fuel nozzel wouldnt go in. If you look closely, there are two buttons located on each side inside the fuel inlet. The gas nozzel is suppose to push against both buttons and the metal "flap" unlocks

Yes, had the same issue trying to fill with a gas can. Those little tabs are the trick. Push one side in with a screw driver, the other side in with the gas can. Poof, magic, it opened.

Just had the same problem wouldn’t open....turned out it was the fuel nozzle that was incorrect. Went to a different pump (with a smaller nozzle...) went right in.... Idk about the using a hammer and nail but I highly recommend trying to go to a different pump (with a possible smaller nozzle) before hammering your car.

Same thing happened to my 15 Dodge Durango yesterday. I used my finger and kinda messed with it a bit and it finally opened. Now I’m scared of what’s going to happen when I need gas again.
