My car skips/jumps as I accerelate

Asked by kalfred22 Sep 09, 2015 at 01:12 PM about the 2011 Ford Fusion SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Ford Fusion with 86K miles.  I have noticed that when I am going between 5-10 mph it will almost skip a beat.  As soon as I accelerate even more, it seems okay.  Also, if I'm stuck in traffic and rolling along at 5-10 mph it will do it when I put my foot on the gas. It shifts well when going into higher speeds, I doesn't slip out of gear and it doesn't make any sounds, so I don't think its the transmission, but I honestly don't know.  Could it be a fuel pump issue?

I have the same issue unfortunately if you have a 4 cylinder engine like me your going to get that slight hesitation on takeoff! It's a drawback of having the 4 cylinder. Sorry no fix available and there is no mechanical problems.

I have a 2013 with 130,000 miles and it does the same thing. Not only does it do it on the acceleration, it will also do it when I am applying light great. Also all my lights come on the dash. I heard it may be a wheel sensor
