Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car won't start and I have a new battery...I've
been told that it isn't the starter or alternator.....it
was doing this for a while and a battery charger or
jumping the car after several attempts and it would
start....now it won't at all??

Oh, shoot, not happy to hear that. I bought my 2006 STS used. It has 132,000 miles on it. Engine wise, no problems. Starting, especially remote start, is frustrating when it tries to start, then stops. I had a zillion appointments with the Chevy dealer in my town. They replaced the battery and still doesn't work. If ultimately it won't start at all, I think I'll look for another one...a CT6 in particular. Love the body style. Good luck with it.

Replace the battery in the key ring remote. If that doesn’t work, it may be the small computer in the dashboard. I had similar problems if my car set for 2 or 3 days without starting the engine. If I started every day, then it would start. The bad computer in the dashboard was draining the battery down. Good Luck

I was told by a mechanic that has something to do the valves and it could be remedied by adding an additive to the gasoline occasionaly
