If you're working with an insurance company there's a good chance they'll total the vehicle because of its age and the cost to fix it. If the cost to fix the vehicle is more than what it's worth it will be deemed a total loss and you will receive a check for the value of the car at the time of the accident, less any deductible. If the accident was not your fault you will receive a check for the deductible too. This is assuming you have collision coverage on the vehicle.
