Car stops accelerating while driving.

Asked by keithwh24 Oct 02, 2016 at 11:43 AM about the 2010 Mercury Mariner Premier

Question type: General

The past few days while driving to work my car randomly stops accelerating.
I have to pull to the side of the road, turn the car off and back on to start
working again. Weird part is everything else on the car works when it stops
accelerating. The car continues to run but RPMs stay low even when I put
the pedal to the floor. No engine light comes on, I even had Autozone scan it
for an error code and nothing came back. All fluids are good and my filters
are new. Any ides why this would happen. I keep thinking a sensor? But not
sure. Please help.
