2009 pontiac torrent engine light on and had a code P0008 and it said engine performance position bank one. What deos that mean oriellys said that was not a stored code that i would have to ask a deal

New cars from 2003 and up have a system that adjusts timing automatically, it's called phaser system, it constantly adjusts timing on cam shafts, if computer sent a request for an adjustment but did not see it, it's turn on check engine light. Eventually if system is working correctly and only happened that one time, it's turn light off til it happens again. Low oil pressure will trigger this fault since the system works with oil pressure

Possible causes P0008 Engine mechanical problems Incorrect timing chain Stretched timing chain - Failed camshaft actuator or actuator solenoid.
