Wheel alignment causing slow wobble?

Asked by amac1088 Feb 19, 2013 at 10:48 AM about the 2009 Pontiac Vibe 2.4L

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Just bought a used 09 pontiac vibe. The wheel alignment is definitely off as it constantly pulls to the left.
Along with this, when I am going about 5-10 mph, my car starts to wobble left and right very slightly,
without touching the brakes. It is not extremely noticeable, but I am concerned it could be something
serious. Would a wheel alignment fix the wobble problem too? Or is it something else I should look into?

Check your wheels for damage, bends or something. I would also look to see if you have a bubble on your tire causing the wobble.

I would suspect a bad tire. Try rotating them to the rear to see if it changes.

Hopefully Tenspeed is correct and it's just a broken belt in the tire. If dynasg is correct and the rim is bent then something hit it hard. Probably a pothole or previous owner was e- brake drifting in a snowy parking lot and "curbed" it. Regardless of how it got bent, if that's the case, then you can probably look forward to replacing a wheel bearing soon.
