Remote starter causing check engine light to stay on

Asked by mrogalla Sep 29, 2014 at 08:24 AM about the 2008 Suzuki SX4 Sport Touring

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My check engine light has been on for over 2 years.  It came on two days after having a remote starter installed at a local customization shop.  I have not had any issues with the car, but cannot get the light to stay off.  I have reset it numerous times, but after 50-100 miles, it comes on again.  Can the remote starter be causing this?  If so, how do I remedy this?
