Battery and brake light stay on

Asked by StsJuan Oct 24, 2017 at 03:57 AM about the 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I just replaced my alternator & also had to wire the
harness plug to the alternator cause the previous
one broke when i tried unplugging it but before all
that i thought it was my battery that was going out
so i got a new one & when i put the new one my
battery drained thats how i knew it was my
alternator but now since I replaced it & charged up
my new battery my brake & battery light come on
what does that mean is it bad ? I need help thanks

Check your grounds and battery cables for voltage drop and high resistance

fusible link? Did any sparks fly? any wires get together, i would think if all was well before you changed the alternator, then it was somewhere there, but a battery change high amperage drain across the post of the battery can get your link! Just a thought.
