It could be 100 things! Does it have a check engine light in the dash? If so, a mechanic will be needed to diagnose the code or codes. it could be as simple as not enough gas in the tank!

Ford Products have an inertia switch usually in the back of the vehicle. It's supposed to shut off the fuel pump in the event of a collision. But they can be troublesome and shut down the fuel pump in a panic stop situation or if you hit a big bump in the road. I'd check that first. If you have a security light illuminated on the dash it's a security system problem and you need to be towed to your local Ford Dealer for repairs. Hope that helps! Jim

there may be 2 relays for the fuel pump , check relays and fuses .

I have a 2007 Mercury Mariner. The car stopped working so I had Ford look at it and was told it needed a new hybrid battery at a cost of $10000. I decided to replace any defective cell packages. I followed a youtube video but when it came to separating the top and bottom cell carriers, I could not get the top bank to separate despite having all top mounted screws etc removed. Any recommendations?
