Do you have to do more than disconnect the battery to reset after changing the o2 sensors?

Asked by GuruX59CZ Oct 05, 2018 at 11:50 AM about the 2004 Lincoln LS V6 Premium

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the O2 sensors on my 2014 LS and then disconnected the battery,
but the check engine light is still on. What else do I have to do?

Your ECU has stored the code and is still displaying the MIL. Are you sure you don't have any other codes? Have you tried hooking an OBD2 scanner to it to manually clear the code?

Drive the car for a while. There still may be other trouble codes to be read.

I don't have any issues other than the light staying on. Is the OBD2 scanner the same as the one you use to read the codes, and if so how do I clear the code?
