I have 86 mustang lx 3.8

Timing chain was loose reason of repairing whit smoke comes out tail pipe
have too keep foot all way on gas it is a 3.8 v6  have to keep foot all way on
gas to get it crank soon as u let ur foot of gas it dies

White smoke is a sign you are burning coolant. So you might have a possible head gasket leak, and with a timing chain issue. it sounds like you will be rebuilding the engine. So you might want to think about dropping in a 5.0L. and all the other goodies that go with it, if the body and interior is in decent shape.
