Odd buzzing/humming coming from dashboard area

When I turn off the car, a buzzing/loud
humming noise starts up from dash area.  
Last approx 30 seconds. Sometimes it
randomly buzzes (but just for a sec or 2)
when idling.  What is it?  I want to fix it
before I sell it but have no clue what it is.  I
have a short video of the noise if I can
upload to your site.

Just a guess but maybe a relay is going bad.

Is your defroster or the a/c button depressed? If so it's the a/c system behind the upper right dash. Ignore.

had metallic buzzing under driver's dash at 40km, 60km and 80km going uphill. Ignition coil finally broke and once fixed no more metallic buzzing.

I don't think so. There was no shaking of the dash. Not looking for answers just providing one solution that may or may not help others. Also had poor gas mileage during the time of the buzzing. It has now returned to normal with the replacement of the coil.

Also, if I removed foot from gas pedal the buzzing went away.

Have the same thing in my 2016 Outback 3.6 - started yesterday and gets pretty loud for 5- 10 seconds at a time before fading away. Strange! Sounds like a little drone taking off from the glove box.

Same issue in 2008 Out back. Bizarre. Like radio buzzing but not the radio or fan. No idea!
