Wont start, clicks 6 times when I turn the key

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So about 2 weeks ago my car would not start. It sounded
like a dead battery, but instead of the "dead battery click" it
clicked 6 even times everytime I turned the key. I ended up
trying to jump it and after several minutes, it finally started.
The battery light was in, so I bought a new battery and
things were fine. Now, 2 weeks later it is doing the very
same thing again.  I'm not sure if it is the alternator or not. I
have checked to see if the clicking comes from any fuse or
relay, but not such luck. Can anyone help me with this?
What does the 6 clicks mean?  It has been perfectly
maintained, and currently have 57,700 miles

When battery light comes on does not mean something is wrong with the battery it is saying there is a problem with the charging system most of the time it is a bad alternator.

I was finally able to get my car started by jumping it, even though it took 20 minutes or so. So today I went out and bought a multi meter to check the battery and alternator. Both check out alright in the ranges of volts it needs to be. I cannot imagine it's the starter, because jumping it would not help, correct. Any idea what the 6 clicks mean?

Same issue here. Car wouldn’t start out of nowhere. I had it jumped. Drove fine for a day then won’t start again . Now it ticks at the ignition site for about half a minute then stops. Won’t start.
