2003 Saab 9 3 turbo. What does the gearbox malfunction mean?

I could be similar to the BMW system that detects unusual behavior or aggressive shifting as a slip or malfunction. The only remedy was to stop the car and turn it off for about two minutes to reset it. I'm unfamiliar with the Saab system, but I've heard this from other manufacturers with similar systems as well.
