what does the transmission light mean on a 2004 jaguar vanden plas

just need have some experienced theories on what may
be causing my transmission service light to come on and
off evwry couple days. my commute is 70 miles a day
with minor traffic and i rarely get into the passing gear.
nor do i hot rod it around. thanks for the help

You might start with checking the fluid level and also look at color of fluid if suspiciously different than fresh fluid. Brownish color would be an alert.
