Question type: General

My jaguar X-Type 2004 looses power after driving for only about 5 miles. If you keep driving, it keeps loosing power and soon it even stops moving, can't even rave. If engine is stopped for a few minutes, it regains some power but can only move for a shorter distance before it fails to move again. Please help

Sounds like a fuel problem. The fuel pressure can be checked at the fuel rail fitting on top of the engine. I would be looking for about 50psi. If it's low, replace the fuel filter. If that doesn't fix it then I would be suspecting the fuel pump in the tank or the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail. I hope this helps.
